Saednews: The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that trust in the Americans is no longer possible and said that what they have done recently was a "betrayal of diplomacy."
According to Saed News, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, who traveled to Geneva, Switzerland, to hold talks with his counterparts from Germany, France, the UK, and the EU’s foreign policy chief, said in an interview with an American media outlet that the government of U.S. President Donald Trump betrayed diplomacy with its recent actions.
Speaking to NBC in Geneva, Araqchi responded to veteran American journalist Andrea Mitchell’s question about whether diplomacy could resolve Iran’s nuclear issue within two weeks by saying: “It depends on the Americans to show their determination for a negotiated solution or whether they have other plans and want to attack Iran.”
Trump had said he would give diplomacy two weeks, otherwise he would decide about joining the aggressive campaign of the Zionist regime against Iran. This comes while reports indicate that these regime attacks on Iran have occurred with Washington’s green light and support.
The Iranian Foreign Minister added: “They may have this plan, or maybe they need negotiations to cover it up. We don’t know how we can trust them anymore. What they did was truly a betrayal of diplomacy.”
According to Mitchell, Araqchi told her that “Steve Witkoff,” the senior American negotiator, is undermining his own commitments and might not be able to fulfill his promises.
The NBC anchor said Araqchi told her that Trump must force the Zionist regime to stop its attacks, and as long as the regime continues its assaults, there will be no negotiations.
He also stated that the Iranian Foreign Minister told her he would travel to Moscow on Monday for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
