SAEDNEWS: The US Treasury announced new sanctions on Tuesday against a network of ships and companies accused of disguising Iranian oil as Iraqi crude. The measures target nine tankers, seven firms, and one Iraqi national, escalating Washington’s pressure campaign on Tehran’s oil sector.

The US Treasury Department on Tuesday announced new sanctions related to Iran.
According to Saed News, the US Treasury’s website claimed: “Today, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned a network of shipping companies and vessels managed by Waleed Al-Samarrai (Al-Samarrai) for allegedly smuggling Iranian oil disguised as Iraqi oil.”

Scott Bessent, the US Treasury Secretary, further repeated his country’s previous baseless claims, alleging that Washington will continue its efforts to impose oil sanctions on Tehran.

According to the Treasury website, nine oil tankers, seven companies, and one individual (an Iraqi national) have been added to the list of anti-Iran sanctions.
