SAEDNEWS: The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) believes that the evacuation of Gaza City is “not only unfeasible but incomprehensible under the present circumstances.”
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has warned that a mass evacuation of Gaza City could not be carried out in a safe or dignified manner, as Israel tightened its siege on the area ahead of a widely expected offensive.
“It is impossible that a mass evacuation of Gaza City could ever be done in a way that is safe and dignified under the current conditions,” ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric said in a statement on Saturday.
She added that the dire state of shelter, healthcare, and food in the enclave made any such evacuation “not only unfeasible but incomprehensible under the present circumstances.”
