SAEDNEWS: First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref says all Iranian people and groups, including the opposition, maintained unity in the face of the latest Israeli war of aggression, emphasizing the necessity of preserving that national cohesion.

VP Aref Hails Iranians' Unity In Face Of Israeli War of Aggression

Aref made the remarks on Sunday while he toured the headquarters of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in Tehran.

He said that the enemies of Iran expected that the aggression would result in the collapse of the system, but people defended their homeland with strength despite the problems they were facing and the issues they were unhappy with.

Our enemies do not understand that the Iranian people's complaints are internal differences which are not considered opposition to the Islamic system, said the VP, adding that unity and cohesion of people was in fact the most important outcome of the 12-day war of aggression against Iran.

Aref also referred to opposition groups’ support in the face of the aggression, saying that the measures and policies adopted over the past four decades to maintain national unity must be revised.

According to the official, the enemies have been attempting to resort to indirect plots against Iran since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, and in the recent aggression, they directly attacked the Iranian nation. He emphasized that the ceasefire, which came into force on June 24, does not mean that the war has ended, as the Israeli regime has a long history of violating its commitments.

Israel began an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on June 13, killing over 600 people, including top military commanders, scientists, and civilians.

The Iranian Armed Forces responded powerfully, inflicting widespread damage to areas across the occupied territories.

On June 22, the United States joined Israel, and in coordination with the regime, attacked three Iranian nuclear sites in violation of international law, prompting global condemnations.

The U.S.-Israeli aggression lasted 12 days and came to an end following a ceasefire.
