According to SAEDNEWS, The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has strongly condemned a recent terrorist attack in Iran. On October 26, gunmen targeted a patrol unit from the Law Enforcement Command in Sistan and Baluchistan province, resulting in the tragic loss of ten Iranian border guards.

In a statement posted on the UN's website, the Security Council expressed its heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the people and the government of Iran. The members of the UNSC emphasized that terrorism is one of the biggest threats to international peace and security.

The Council stressed the importance of holding those responsible for this attack accountable. They called on all countries to cooperate with the Iranian government and relevant authorities in bringing the attackers to justice, in line with international law.

The UNSC reiterated that all acts of terrorism are unacceptable, regardless of their motives or who commits them. They reaffirmed the need for all nations to work together to combat terrorism in accordance with the United Nations Charter and other international laws, including human rights and humanitarian laws.

The attack in Taftan County was shocking, with armed assailants ambushing police vehicles in the Goharkooh district.
