SAEDNEWS: Iran's Customs Administration (IRICA) said country’s export of pistachios in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2024) registered a major growth compared to the same period last year.
According to SAEDNEWS, Iran's Customs Administration (IRICA) has reported a substantial increase in the country's pistachio exports for the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, 2024.
According to IRICA, Iran exported pistachios worth $352 million during the period from March 21 to August 22, 2024. This figure represents a remarkable 213% rise compared to the same timeframe last year.
In terms of volume, the nation exported 36,000 tons of fresh pistachios during these five months, marking a significant 122% increase in weight over the previous year’s corresponding period. The breakdown of exports reveals that Iran exported $245 million worth of pistachios in their fresh or dry shells and $103 million in pistachio kernel form.
This growth reflects Iran's strong position in the global pistachio market, reinforcing its status as one of the leading producers and exporters of this nut.
