Egypt, Germany Discuss Gaza Crisis and Regional Stability in High-Level Call

According to Saed News citing IRNA, The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with German Foreign Minister Johan Fadifol.

The conversation took place within the framework of ongoing consultations between the two countries regarding regional developments, with the situation in the Gaza Strip at the center of attention.

During the call, Abdelatty briefed his German counterpart on the latest catastrophic humanitarian and medical developments in Gaza and the progress of negotiations for establishing a ceasefire, as well as Egypt’s efforts to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

He also stressed the necessity of removing all obstacles imposed by Israel to guarantee full and unconditional access to aid.

The two ministers discussed the highly dangerous consequences of recent policies and statements by Israeli authorities. Abdelatty warned against the expansionist plans referred to as “Greater Israel” and the efforts to construct new settlement units in occupied Jerusalem, describing these policies as a direct threat to regional security and stability.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister also expressed his country’s firm opposition and condemnation of Israel’s military escalation in Gaza and settlement expansion in the West Bank, noting that these actions weaken prospects for calm and peace. He called on the European Union to take serious measures to curb Israel’s escalating tension.

Abdelatty and Fadifol expressed complete opposition to the starvation policy against the Palestinian people and the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. Abdelatty emphasized that these repeated Israeli violations constitute a clear breach of international and humanitarian law.

He further praised the German government’s decision to suspend arms and military equipment exports to Israel—which could potentially be used in operations against Gaza—describing it as a positive step in the right direction.

The German Foreign Minister welcomed Egypt’s efforts to achieve a ceasefire and facilitate humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza.

In another part of the conversation, the two ministers discussed the latest developments regarding Iran’s nuclear dossier. Abdelatty emphasized the importance of reaching a political solution and avoiding military options, highlighting this as a key factor for reducing tensions and maintaining regional stability.
