Iran's Handwoven Carpet Exports Surpass $13 Million in Just Four Months

According to SAEDNEWS, Iran's handwoven carpet industry is experiencing a promising resurgence, with exports registering a six percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to Mohammadreza Zare Borzeshi. This trend highlights the country’s long-standing tradition of carpet weaving, which continues to flourish even amid challenging economic conditions.

In his remarks, Zare Borzeshi emphasized the upward trajectory in carpet production within Iran, noting an impressive 11 percent growth recorded during the previous Iranian calendar year, which spanned from March 21, 2023, to March 20, 2024. Statistics from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) reveal that Iran exported approximately $11.5 million worth of handwoven carpets during the first four months of the last Iranian calendar year, running from March 21 to July 22, 2023.
