SAEDNEWS: Deputy: The President is honest, transparent, and cannot be censored.
According to the Political Service of SaedNews Analytical News Website, quoting ISNA, Seyyed Mehdi Tabatabaei, in an interview with ISNA, stated that the President, in utilizing the political and administrative capacities of the country, tried not to enter the false dichotomy of left and right, reformist and principlist. He added: The concept of consensus is to use all political currents, even those that did not agree with us, even those that were our competitors during the election, and even those that did not participate in the elections.
He also said: It is the utmost fairness that he has even sought support from the most distant political currents, including rival currents, and assigned them responsibilities within his team.
A portion of the remarks of the Deputy of Communications and Information Office of the President in this report is as follows:
You mentioned that the President is opposed to these false dichotomies. After Mr. Larijani was appointed as Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, these dichotomies were reproduced on social media, and some government supporters suggested that Mr. Jalili should step down from this council. On the other hand, some attacked Mr. Larijani. What is the government’s viewpoint regarding these behaviors?
Mr. Jalili was an electoral competitor of Dr. Pezeshkian and perhaps has the most different perspective on the model of governing the country compared to Dr. Pezeshkian, but I can say with certainty that when Dr. Pezeshkian first became President, he told Mr. Jalili in a session of the Expediency Discernment Council that he was ready to give him control over a part of the country, not just one or two provinces, but full control over a section of the country from the north, east, south, or west, delegating powers so that Mr. Jalili could implement the ideas he speaks of in practice. He added that he would not interfere, but would help as the central government, giving authority for example to manage the eastern part of the country according to his own discretion, govern it well, and potentially be elected President in the next term.
I want to express the ultimate perspective of Mr. Pezeshkian. Dr. Pezeshkian has absolutely no lust for power. Perhaps some criticisms about his behavior and adherence to protocols stem from the President’s perspective. Power has no inherent appeal for Dr. Pezeshkian; he views it as a responsibility, a role, a means of service, and an instrument of influence. From this perspective on power, he gives everyone a role.
Pezeshkian is not in the middle of political fights
Sometimes sharp conflicts arise between the supporters and opponents of Mr. Jalili and Mr. Pezeshkian, but Mr. Pezeshkian does not engage in these games. Moreover, if he believes a certain approach is harmful to the country, he does not assign it a decisive role in government; that is, if he feels an approach is damaging to the country and people, causing division and weakening social cohesion, he does not give it a role in the government.
What was Mr. Jalili’s response to the President’s proposal?
Nothing, apparently he did not accept it. Perhaps he took it as a joke and did not think the proposal was serious, but the President was completely serious. The President stated that he is ready to delegate authority so that Mr. Jalili could become governor of a large province of the country and manage that province with delegated authority.
