According to the political service report of the analytical news website SaedNews, Martyr Yusuf Pezeshkian, brother of the president, was born in 1957 (Hijri Shamsi 1336) in Mahabad County into a religious family. He studied in Mahabad until the end of high school and in 1977 (Hijri Shamsi 1356) he traveled with one of his brothers to Tabriz to continue his studies and enter university. In addition to serving in the Construction Jihad, Martyr Pezeshkian also carried a weapon at night and guarded the city, working to secure the region. He held deep hostility toward the deviant and atheist groups and did not hesitate to take any action against them until finally, on December 10, 1979 (Hijri Shamsi 1358/09/19), during a demonstration against the deviant Mojahedin Khalq Organization, he was shot and attained the great honor of martyrdom. He was buried on December 11, 1979 (Hijri Shamsi 1358/09/20).
