SAEDNEWS: In a two-hour meeting, the Presidents of Iran and Russia emphasized implementing a long-term agreement, expanding scientific and academic cooperation, and the importance of multilateral institutions like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

According to Saed News, the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, stated in a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that implementing the long-term comprehensive agreement between Iran and Russia will serve as a foundation for expanding bilateral relations and cooperation.

Pezeshkian highlighted that collaboration within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union will also facilitate and accelerate significant enhancement of interactions between the two countries.

He added that he is personally following up on speeding up the implementation of all agreements with Russia and removing any obstacles in their path. Exchange of experiences and scientific and academic cooperation between Iran and Russia will create synergies, providing a platform for expanding comprehensive interactions.

The Iranian President emphasized that the efforts of the U.S. and its allies aim to consolidate unilateralism, while multilateral forums such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization provide a suitable platform to promote multilateralism.

President Putin, in turn, asked Pezeshkian to convey his greetings and best wishes to Iran’s Supreme Leader and stressed that the relations between the two countries, especially following the signing and implementation of the long-term comprehensive treaty, are genuinely friendly and expanding.

The meeting between Pezeshkian and Putin lasted for two hours.
