SAEDNEWS: Elon Musk has announced that artificial intelligence will ultimately replace humans in all jobs.
According to SaedNews, speaking at the VivaTech 2024 conference in Paris via webcam, Musk described a future where jobs for humans will be "optional." He said, "We probably won’t have any jobs. If you want to do something for fun, you can. Otherwise, AI and robots will provide any goods and services you need."
He also mentioned that for such a scenario to work, there needs to be "high universal income," though he did not provide further details.
Musk has consistently voiced his concerns about AI. During Thursday's speech, he called this technology his greatest fear. He also referred to the "Culture" series of books by Iain Banks, which offers a utopian, technologically advanced view of society, as the most realistic and "best vision of future AI."
AI capabilities have increased so rapidly in recent years that regulators, companies, and consumers are still figuring out how to use this technology responsibly. Concerns are also growing about how various industries and jobs will change with the proliferation of AI in the market.
Experts largely believe that many jobs requiring high emotional intelligence and human interaction, such as mental health professionals, creatives, and teachers, are unlikely to be replaced
