SAEDNEWS: Poor storage, improper wear, and repeated pressure can cause shoes to lose their original shape faster than expected.
According to SAEDNEWS, one of the main reasons shoes lose their shape quickly is wearing them without allowing enough time for the materials to recover. Walking puts repeated pressure on the toe box, heel, and sides of a shoe. When the same pair is worn continuously, moisture from the feet and repeated bending can contribute to deformation, particularly when the footwear is made from softer materials.
Several everyday habits can make shoes become misshapen sooner:
Putting them on without loosening the laces: Forcing the foot into a tightly laced shoe can compress the heel and gradually damage its structure.
Walking with worn-out soles: Uneven or heavily worn soles can change the way pressure is distributed across the shoe.
Storing shoes under heavy objects: Constant pressure can flatten or distort parts of the footwear.
Wearing the same pair every day: Continuous use gives the materials less time to dry and recover between wears.
Storing shoes without support: Flexible footwear can gradually collapse when left empty for long periods.

After wearing a pair, allow it to air out naturally and store it in a position that supports its original form. Using an appropriately sized shoe tree can also help some types of footwear retain their shape, especially around the toe and upper sections.
It is also useful to avoid pulling on the heel when putting shoes on. A shoehorn can reduce pressure on the heel counter and make it easier to put footwear on without crushing its back section.
Good storage matters as well. Shoes should be kept in a dry, reasonably ventilated place away from unnecessary pressure. Taking basic care of the structure of the footwear can reduce premature deformation and help shoes remain comfortable and presentable for longer.
