Manchester United Finally Complete Carlos Balba Deal From Brighton

According to SaedNews: Manchester United are set to complete their fourth signing of the summer after reaching an agreement with Brighton for Carlos Balba. Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the clubs have agreed a £65 million fee plus a further £5 million in performance-related bonuses for the Cameroon midfielder.

Brighton had previously rejected United’s £65 million package, made up of £60 million plus £5 million in add-ons. Balba has now received permission from Brighton to travel to Manchester, where he will undergo his medical before completing his move to Michael Carrick’s squad.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined Brighton from French club Lille in 2023. He has made 112 appearances for the English side, scoring four goals and providing two assists. Balba is expected to fill the role left by Casemiro, who ended his four-year spell at Manchester United this summer and moved to Inter Miami.

United had already brought in Chelsea defensive midfielder Andrey Santos, Aston Villa central midfielder Youri Tielemans and former Leeds goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a free transfer during the current summer window. Balba will therefore become the club’s fourth addition.
