SAEDNEWS: Senereh, a beautiful spring and Nowruz flower, can bring a fresh and vibrant atmosphere to your home with its colorful and beneficial blooms. In this article, learn about the ideal lighting, watering, fertilizing, and care requirements for keeping this lovely plant healthy and thriving.
According to Saednews, Cineraria, a beautiful plant from the Canary Islands, has made its way around the world. It may be surprising, but cineraria has been introduced from Africa and the Americas to many other regions. This attractive plant is known for its colorful flowers and is also appreciated by bees.
Cineraria can provide bees with a useful source of protein and therefore plays a role in honey production. Its fruits and seeds can also serve as a nutritious food source for wildlife. Cineraria is considered a spring-flowering plant and is widely known in Iran as a Nowruz flower, as it is especially popular during the Persian New Year season. It is also sometimes called Cineraria or Cinera, although Cineraria is the more common name in Iran.

Place the pot near a bright window where the plant can receive plenty of indirect sunlight throughout most of the day. Keep in mind that cineraria can develop dense foliage and needs enough space to grow properly.
Try to keep the soil consistently moist, but allow the surface of the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Never leave the plant sitting in water, and make sure the soil and pot have adequate drainage.
To encourage healthy growth, apply a slow-release fertilizer during spring. After the plant has finished flowering, you can use a balanced, general-purpose liquid fertilizer.
As its appearance suggests, cineraria’s brightly colored flowers are one of the main reasons for its popularity. In fact, the flowers are the most important ornamental feature of the plant. Blooms generally appear from late autumn through early spring, although the exact flowering period depends largely on the local climate. In warmer regions, for example, flowering may begin somewhat later.

Use a well-draining potting mix for cineraria. Adding a small amount of sand to regular potting soil can improve drainage. If your plant is growing in a container, repot it every few years. The best time to do this is in spring, before new buds begin to appear. When moving the plant to a new pot, mix some of the old soil with fresh potting soil to help the plant adjust.
