According to Saednews report, we live in an era where stores are filled with dozens of different beverages, many of which we have never even heard of. While some drinks like soft drinks and fruit juices are already known to be unhealthy, many people also consume other beverages without realizing their potential health risks.
Here are five commonly consumed drinks that may be unhealthy:
Chocolate milk
Contrary to childhood nostalgia, chocolate milk is not as healthy as it may seem. One glass of a popular brand such as Nesquik contains about 21 grams of sugar.
Large packaged coffee drinks
Although one or two cups of coffee per day can be beneficial, excessive consumption may have negative effects. Some studies suggest it could weaken bones. While the body may need around 400 mg of caffeine daily, higher intake can lead to health issues.
Bottled water
The concern here is not the water itself, but the chemicals found in plastic bottles. Some studies have suggested that these substances may be linked to cancer risks.
Milkshakes
In the past, milkshakes were made simply from milk and ice cream. Today, they often contain many additional ingredients, sometimes reaching over 1,000 calories per serving.
Orange juice
Although orange juice is rich in vitamin C, one packet can contain around 36 grams of sugar, which may easily contribute to weight gain.
