SAEDNEWS: Unlike many other automakers, Nissan uses its spare time to automatically pair slippers and has equipped them with an automatic parking system!

Slippers With an Automatic Parking System

According to Saednews, Major car manufacturers around the world, in addition to their core automotive activities, often present innovative and surprising ideas and projects. One such example is Nissan’s development of slippers equipped with an automatic parking system.

Like many major automakers, Nissan is working on advanced driverless and autonomous systems. However, unlike many others, Nissan has also used its “free time” to create slippers that can automatically pair themselves.

Nissan’s New Slippers

This is not a joke or an April Fool’s prank. Nissan has actually implemented the “ProPILOT Park” project in a large Japanese inn located in the busy Hakone area. As part of this experiment, the slippers in the facility are equipped with self-parking technology so they can automatically return to their pairs.

How the Smart Slippers Work

Each slipper is equipped with small wheels, a motor, and sensors that allow it to move across the floor and find its correct position. The system is designed so that slippers automatically return to their matching pair and are neatly arranged for use.

In addition to the slippers, other items in the inn have also been equipped with similar mobility systems, such as floor cushions and even room tables.

Purpose of the Project

A Nissan spokesperson explained that the self-parking slippers demonstrate what autonomous technologies can achieve. The project aims to raise public awareness of driverless technology and explore how automation can improve convenience for users.

The company has also stated its broader goal of developing and introducing its first fully autonomous vehicle in the future.
