SAEDNEWS: What Is the Correct and Proper Way to Dry a Wet Mobile Phone?
According to Saednews, Before taking any steps to dry your mobile phone, remember that under no circumstances should you use a wet phone. First, remove the phone from the water immediately and turn it off. Then take out accessible parts such as the SIM card, and dry the device as much as possible using a towel or sleeve. Gently shake the phone so that water can drain out of its ports.

Never put a water-damaged phone in a dryer.
Do not use a hair dryer under any circumstances, as the internal chips are heat-sensitive and heat can seriously damage the device.
Do not place a wet phone in the freezer.
Do not put it on a radiator.
Never place a mobile phone in a microwave, as this can cause severe and costly damage.
To dry a wet phone, hold the charging port facing downward and gently shake the phone so that water can escape. Do not shake it too hard or tap it against a hard surface, as this may damage the screen.
Then place the phone in a safe location and let it dry naturally over time. It is better to keep it standing upright with the charging port facing downward. The phone should remain in this position for at least one hour.

One of the most common methods for drying a phone is placing it in rice overnight. However, there are better methods. Placing a phone in rice can allow dust and particles to enter the ports, which may remain inside permanently and make charging difficult over time.
Small rice particles may also enter the phone’s internal components, increasing the risk of permanent damage. Although rice may absorb moisture, it can also harm the device and is therefore not recommended.
You may be tempted to use a heat source such as a hair dryer to speed up drying. However, this can cause the phone’s temperature to rise excessively. High heat can evaporate the water but leave behind mineral deposits, which may damage internal components.
While there is a chance the phone may still work after using heat, the risk of serious damage is significantly higher and should not be ignored.
