SAEDNEWS: Stunning Images from the International Space Station Reveal the Majestic Northern Lights
According to Saed News’ science service, breathtaking images released by NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 commander, Zena Cardman, from the International Space Station (ISS), showcase a magnificent display of the northern lights (Aurora Borealis). The photos were taken on Monday, November 17.
Cardman described the event to Fararu as “a recurring show, but especially spectacular this week,” adding, “Try to catch Houston, Florida, and the northern lights all in one frame!”
These vibrant curtains of color appear when Earth’s magnetic field channels charged particles from the Sun toward the poles, where they collide with the atmosphere.
The frequency and intensity of these auroras have recently increased due to the Sun reaching the peak of its 11-year activity cycle (solar maximum)—a phase expected to continue at least until the end of this year, offering repeated luminous spectacles both in space and on Earth.
