SAEDNEWS: The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette, featuring a redesigned cabin, advanced displays, and a notable price hike, is ready to take on the Australian and New Zealand markets.
According to the technology desk of Saed News, General Motors Australia and New Zealand announced that the starting price for the entry-level 2LT Stingray coupe is AUD 193,990, marking an increase of AUD 11,990 over the previous model. The 3LT coupe now costs AUD 222,990, up AUD 25,990, while the 3LT convertible is priced at AUD 232,990, a rise of AUD 18,490. The all-electric E-Ray model is listed at AUD 292,990, up AUD 17,990. The base 2LT convertible has been discontinued, and the ZO6, ZR1, and ZR1X variants remain unavailable with right-hand drive.
One of the highlights is the new Stingray R Launch Edition, limited to just 50 units from January 2026, priced at AUD 235,000 for the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The 2026 Corvette features a redesigned cabin with three displays: a 12.7-inch touchscreen multimedia system, a 14-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 6.6-inch auxiliary display for performance data. These screens offer higher resolution and new features, including the PTM Pro performance driving mode.
Interior improvements include a new drive mode selector, dual wireless smartphone chargers, illuminated volume control, redesigned climate controls, ambient-lit cupholders, and a front passenger handle with a USB-C port. The performance data recorder now supports video analysis and real-time driving tips. Previously exclusive to the E-Ray, the Performance app is now standard across all models.
The 2026 Corvette is the first GMSV (Gordon Murray Special Vehicles) model to offer Chevrolet Connected Services, including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store with an eight-year free subscription. A new Chevrolet mobile app allows remote access, fault diagnostics, and vehicle tracking.
Engine options remain unchanged. The Stingray continues with a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 delivering 369 kW and 637 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Z51 performance package is standard, featuring Brembo brakes, upgraded suspension, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S ZP tires. The E-Ray adds a front electric motor, enabling all-wheel drive, boosting total output to 488 kW and torque to 806 Nm.
Safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, forward collision warning, and HD cameras. All models are manufactured at GM’s Bowling Green plant in Kentucky, USA.
Corvette sales reached 441 units in 2024 and continue to grow. The 2026 Corvette underscores Chevrolet’s focus on advanced technology, high performance, and a luxurious interior, albeit at a premium price.
