SAEDNEWS: Iranian Army Air Defenses Intercept US Military LUCAS Drone Over Bandar Abbas
According to Saednews, The drone was intercepted and destroyed by the Army’s air defense systems as part of the country’s integrated air defense network, according to an official statement.
In September, Brigadier General Majid Mousavi, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force, stated that the United States had developed the LUCAS drone by replicating Iran’s Shahed-136 unmanned aerial vehicle and had added it to its military arsenal.
Mousavi emphasized that Iran’s diverse fleet of Shahed-series drones is designed for combat, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, describing the country’s domestically developed drone capabilities as a significant asset for national defense. He also noted that Operation True Promise 1 set a record for the deployment of indigenously developed drones operated by the IRGC Aerospace Force.
