SAEDNEWS: Iran Denies Reports of New Proposals to Reopen Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s 7-Day Hormuz Plan Has Yet to Be Presented to the US

According to Saednews, An informed source has stated that Iran’s seven-day plan outlining the conditions for reopening the strategically important Strait of Hormuz has already been conveyed to the United States through mediators.

The source dismissed reports by Saudi news outlet Al-Arabiya as “lies and fabrications,” accusing the outlet of continuing its pattern of spreading false information about Iran.

Al-Arabiya had reported that Tehran offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the lifting of the US maritime blockade.

“Iran does not accept any arrangement based on exchanging the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for the lifting of the blockade,” the source said.

Instead, Tehran is using its own methods to circumvent the restrictions and will ultimately break them, the source added.

The official stressed that Iran’s seven-day proposal, which outlines Tehran’s conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, had already been delivered to the American side through mediators.

The source further stated that insecurity in the strategic waterway would persist until all of Iran’s demands were met, including the removal of restrictions affecting Iranian ports and shipping.

“The whole world knows very well that the cause of insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz is the aggressive and interventionist actions of the United States,” the source said. “For this reason, ending these illegal actions is a common demand of countries across the region and the world.”

The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding was reached in June following the US-Israeli aggression that began in late February. The agreement called for an end to hostilities on all fronts, the lifting of the US naval blockade on Iranian ports, the restoration of commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, and subsequent negotiations on other outstanding issues.
