SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the Foreign Ministry had presented Iran’s conditions and concerns to the mediators through a clear and operational plan. He added that it had become clear to everyone that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains steadfast and determined to defend itself.
According to Saednews, As part of ongoing consultations between Iran’s Parliament and the country’s diplomatic apparatus on key foreign policy matters, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a meeting with a number of Iranian lawmakers.
The three-hour session was attended by Ali Babaei Karnami, head of Parliament’s Social Commission, along with several other MPs. During the meeting, Araghchi delivered a detailed report on the discussions and diplomatic activities carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s delegation during its visit to New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Araghchi said that he and President Masoud Pezeshkian had conducted extensive consultations with representatives of various countries attending the UN summit. He stated that, drawing on what he described as the Iranian people’s resistance and resilience in the face of military aggression, Iran’s delegation clearly and firmly presented the country’s positions.
The foreign minister also highlighted the UN General Assembly as an opportunity to outline Iran’s diplomatic approach and introduce a seven-day proposal aimed at restoring security in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Araghchi, acting on instructions from the country’s competent authorities, the Iranian delegation presented its conditions and concerns to mediators through a detailed and practical proposal. He said the discussions demonstrated that Iran remains firm in defending itself while also being serious about pursuing diplomatic channels to protect its national interests and security.
During the meeting, Araghchi also responded to lawmakers’ questions and discussed their proposals and views. He provided further explanations on a broad range of foreign policy and national security issues, including economic diplomacy, efforts to counter sanctions, relations with neighboring countries, strengthening public and media diplomacy, documenting alleged war crimes attributed to the United States and Israel, and pursuing justice and accountability for those killed during what Iranian officials describe as the Second and Third Imposed Wars.
The participating lawmakers praised the diplomatic apparatus for its efforts and initiatives to protect Iran’s national interests and the rights of its people.
They also stressed the importance of maintaining national unity and cohesion, while emphasizing the need to support both diplomatic efforts and actions on the ground in order to safeguard Iran’s sovereignty.
