SAEDNEWS: In response to the US Secretary of State’s claim that Iran had squandered the opportunity to reach an agreement, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei emphasized that distorting historical facts cannot erase from public memory the reality of the United States’ repeated breaches of its commitments.
According to Saednews, Responding to a question from an IRNA reporter about US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s claim that “Iran has missed the opportunity for an agreement several times,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said that distorting historical facts cannot erase the reality of the United States’ repeated breaches of its commitments from public memory.
Baghaei pointed to several instances of what he described as US violations, including Washington’s unilateral withdrawal from the nuclear agreement in 2018, its undermining of diplomatic processes, military aggression against Iran during negotiations, and its subsequent violation of the understanding reached on June 18.
He held the United States responsible for the prevailing insecurity in the region, as well as for the economic consequences that have affected both the United States and the wider world.
Baghaei stressed that attempts to shift blame and make contradictory statements cannot overshadow the demand from American and global public opinion for those responsible for the illegal war and crimes committed to be held accountable.
