SAEDNEWS: Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reportedly departed Islamabad for Tehran to meet with senior Iranian officials, according to an informed source cited by IRNA.
According to Saednews, A diplomatic source confirmed that Field Marshal Asim Munir departed for Tehran earlier on Monday, accompanied by Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said on Sunday that the visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iran and Pakistan and supporting Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace and security.
During his stay, Munir is expected to meet with senior Iranian officials.
Munir, who is leading Pakistan’s mediation efforts between Iran and the United States, first traveled to Tehran on April 15, 2026, to advance the diplomatic initiative. He returned to Tehran on May 22 and held talks with senior Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian.
