SAEDNEWS: IRGC Says Two Tankers Caught Fire, Halted After Attempting Unsafe Route South of Strait of Hormuz
According to Saednews, The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that two vessels were misled into attempting to pass through what it described as a dangerous and unsafe maritime route. According to the statement, rescue teams were deployed to evacuate the crews from both vessels.
The IRGC Navy also urged international shipping companies to prioritize the safety of their crews and ships. It advised them not to rely on information provided by the U.S. military and to avoid routes it considers hazardous.
The statement further asserted that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed and claimed that exports of oil, natural gas, and chemical fertilizers from the region would not resume while U.S. military actions continue.
Additionally, the IRGC said it had launched retaliatory operations targeting U.S. military bases in response to what it described as maritime violations. It added that more details would be released in subsequent updates.
