Behind the Scenes of the Disclosure of Netanyahu’s Trip to the UAE During the Iran-Israel-U.S. War

According to SAEDNEWS, citing a political service report, an Israeli media outlet reported that the decision by the prime minister of the regime to publicly disclose his wartime trip to the UAE was driven by political concerns related to a planned visit by former prime minister Naftali Bennett to the UAE.

According to ISNA, Channel 12 of the Israeli regime reported on Sunday evening: “The decision by Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, to reveal his wartime trip to the United Arab Emirates—a visit that the UAE had apparently requested to remain secret—was driven by political concerns over a planned trip by former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett to the UAE.”

On Wednesday, Netanyahu said that during the war between the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, he secretly traveled to the UAE and met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, the President of the UAE. The UAE denied the claim and called Netanyahu’s office statement “completely baseless.”

Channel 12 added: “Emirati officials had explicitly requested that the meeting remain confidential, and they were angered by Netanyahu’s decision to disclose it, which, despite warming relations, triggered a diplomatic crisis between the two sides.”

According to two sources familiar with details cited by Channel 12, Netanyahu was concerned that Bennett’s visit would be made public while his own meeting remained secret, creating the impression that “the Emiratis officially welcomed Bennett but not the current Israeli prime minister.”

It is still unclear whether Bennett’s reported trip actually took place. Bennett’s office has not commented on the report, while Netanyahu’s office has denied it.
