SAEDNEWS: Canada’s Foreign Ministry Announces New Sanctions on Seven Individuals Linked to Iran
According to the political desk of Saed News, Fars reported that Anita Anand, Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced that the country is imposing new sanctions on seven individuals under the Special Economic Measures (Iran) Regulations.
In its official statement, the Government of Canada claimed that Ottawa, in coordination with like-minded partners, is implementing these sanctions to counter what it described as Iran’s “transnational repression, violence, and repressive actions.”
According to the Canadian government, the individuals sanctioned today are allegedly linked to Iranian state institutions that it claims are responsible for intimidation, violence, and repression against Iranian dissidents and human rights defenders.
Canada emphasized that it will continue to take concrete measures to address what it called Iran’s destabilizing activities, uphold international law, and stand alongside the people of Iran.
Based on the statement issued by Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the following individuals have been sanctioned:
