SAEDNEWS: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has pledged to expand and deepen “joint work” with Moscow in a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin, state media reported Tuesday.
According to Saednews, Kim Jong Un expressed his “deep” gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin in response to Putin’s recent congratulatory message marking North Korea’s 78th founding anniversary on Sept. 9, North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
In his letter, Kim said North Korea remains “firm without doubt” in its commitment to expanding and deepening comprehensive cooperation with Russia, based on the countries’ traditions of friendship, good-neighborly relations, mutual assistance, and their alliance.
Kim did not specify what the “joint work” would involve, but the statement appeared to signal plans for closer military and economic cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow.
The North Korean leader also said the two countries were continuing to “write a new biography of the great history of alliance” despite an “uneven historical storm,” while reaffirming Pyongyang’s unwavering support for Russia.
