SAEDNEWS: An Elderly Man in South Africa Was Buried in His Car Instead of a Coffin According to His Will
According to Saed News, 72-year-old Shkedi Pitso told his family two years ago that he wanted to be buried inside his favorite car after his death.
His favorite vehicle was a Mercedes-Benz E500, which he had purchased in the 1980s. Pitso was a member of the United Democratic Movement in South Africa’s Eastern Cape region.
His funeral was held with him seated behind the steering wheel of the car. A funeral official in the Eastern Cape said they had never conducted such a burial before and described the process as difficult and stressful.
He also added that all official permits were obtained from the relevant authorities for the burial.
