Saed News: Aging affects the entire body, but its changes are more visible on the face, and some people do not like this process. Therefore, they look for ways to slow down facial skin aging.

2 Cheaper Ways to Prevent Facial Skin Aging

According to SAEDNEWS, with increasing age, dozens of changes occur in the face, some of which are clear and familiar:

  • The forehead becomes wider as the hairline recedes.

  • Ears often become slightly longer because their cartilage continues to grow.

  • The tip of the nose may droop due to weakening of the connective tissue that supports nasal cartilage.

When we are young, fat is evenly distributed in the face, with small fat compartments highlighting areas such as the forehead, temples, cheeks, and regions around the eyes and mouth. However, with age, this fat loses volume, shrinks, and shifts downward, causing previously rounded features to become hollow and once smooth, firm skin to become loose and sagging.

Meanwhile, other parts of the face, especially the lower half, gain fat, leading to a double chin around the chin and neck. And of course, wrinkles appear as well. Deep wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows, known as expression lines, result from repeated muscle movement and skin folding over time.

Other wrinkles may deepen due to the redistribution of fat. Finer wrinkles are caused by sun damage, smoking, and the natural breakdown of skin components that keep it firm and elastic.

What should we do about an aging face?

While an aged and graceful face can also be beautiful, there are changes that occur with age that we may want to slow down.

Facelift surgery, in which excess tissue is removed and sagging skin in the lower face is lifted, is one way to reduce the effects of aging. Facelift techniques have improved in recent years, making results look more natural. However, this surgery is expensive and may require additional procedures to achieve optimal results.

Non-surgical facelift treatments also exist, but they are not cheap, especially when repeated sessions are needed.

For this reason, you can take steps yourself to keep your face youthful:

  • Sun protection: Protecting the face from the sun is the best way to keep it youthful. You should regularly use sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays, with an SPF of at least 30. Wearing a wide-brimmed hat is also a good idea.

  • Creams and lotions: Moisturizers soothe dry skin and may temporarily reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Facial moisturizers contain water to reduce oil content, and many include ingredients such as glycerin that help bind water to the skin. Exfoliating creams can also improve skin appearance by removing dead skin cells that do not shed as easily as in youth.
