These days, while southern provinces of Iran experience the peak of hot days with temperatures around 40°C, the cold-climate attractions of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, with temperatures around 15°C, offer travelers a completely different environment.
Clean air and a variety of tourist attractions — from the towering mountains of Dena and Khami, forests, lakes, waterfalls, and springs to the hospitable people — have made Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad a unique paradise for spring tourism.

The presence of edible and medicinal plants like wild mushrooms, chavil, chamomile, wild mint, rhubarb, jashir, pennyroyal, and colorful flowers has made Kuh-e Gol, as its name suggests, a habitat full of flowers and plants.
Tourist Attractions of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad: Destination for Thousands of Tourists from Different Parts of the Country
Seyed Mojtaba Amirhosseini, Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, stated: Since the beginning of Ordibehesht 1404 (April 2025), the Kuh-e Gol Sisakht tourist area has been crowded with tourists from across the country during certain hours of the day.
Amirhosseini added that since the beginning of the Nowruz holidays 1404 (March 2025), the tourist attractions of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad — from pristine natural areas and historical monuments to religious sites — have attracted thousands of tourists from within the province and neighboring provinces.
He explained that the cold-climate part of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, due to its cool weather and mountainous nature, is one of the destinations for spring and summer travelers, especially from southern Iran.
Referring to the popularity of tourist attractions across various areas of the province, he emphasized that the development of infrastructure and the introduction of tourism capacities via media and social networks nationwide have played an important role in boosting the tourism industry of this four-season region.
Amirhosseini continued: Yasuj Waterfall, Kuh-e Gol Sisakht, Tang Mehriyan, Karik Village, Yasuj Forest Park, Deh Sheikh Cave, Tang Tameradi Waterfall are among the beautiful places in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province in spring and summer that annually host thousands of tourists.
Access Route to Kuh-e Gol Dena Tourist Area
To reach this earthly paradise, you must first travel to Yasuj, the capital of the four-season Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province. After covering about 35 kilometers northwest of Yasuj, you arrive at Sisakht city. Passing Sisakht and traveling about 6 more kilometers leads to the beautiful nature of Kuh-e Gol area.
From the lower part of Kuh-e Gol, after a 30-minute walk through mountain trees and wild flower bushes, you can reach one of the most enchanting natural attractions in the Dena mountain range.
At the final point of the Kuh-e Gol route, there is a parking area and a store selling native herbal and food products, including various Dena herbal medicines and garden and forest preserves, attracting many tourists.
