SAEDNEWS: Hamas says the Israeli army continues to destroy the remaining medical facilities in Gaza, while also targeting medical personnel and their families.
Al Jazeera reported on Saturday that the brother and sister-in-law of Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, director of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, were killed in an Israeli attack on their home earlier in the day.
According to a Telegram statement, five family members, including his brother and several children, died in the strike.
Hamas condemned the attack as “a bloody terrorist message aimed at doctors to force them out of the city”, calling it part of a genocidal policy targeting the medical sector. The group noted that over 1,700 medical personnel have been killed in Gaza by Israel, with roughly 400 detained.
This assault underscores the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where healthcare workers are increasingly under direct threat while trying to save lives amid ongoing conflict.
