Mozzarella cheese: ½ cup
Mushrooms: 200 g
Butter: 1 tbsp
Milk: ¾ cup
Wheat flour: 1 tbsp
Cream: 100 g
Garlic: 2 cloves
Salt, black pepper, thyme: as needed
Prepare the potatoes: Peel and cut the potatoes into thick sticks. Place them in a suitable bowl and add olive oil, salt, black pepper, Aleppo pepper, paprika, onion powder, and thyme. Mix well until evenly coated. Bake or air-fry the potatoes until golden and crispy.
Make the mushroom sauce: Slice the mushrooms and place them in a pan to let their moisture evaporate slowly. Once the mushrooms are tender, add butter and stir, then add flour and grated garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
Add milk and seasoning: Pour in the milk and mix thoroughly until smooth. Add salt, black pepper, and thyme. Once the sauce thickens, remove from heat.
Assemble the dish: Place the baked potatoes in an ovenproof dish and pour the mushroom sauce over them evenly. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and bake in a 180°C (356°F) oven for 10 minutes. Your delicious Potato Papas are now ready to serve—enjoy!
Mushrooms are naturally warming and rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fiber, copper, iron, antioxidants, and more. They help prevent breast and prostate cancer and strengthen the immune system.
When buying mushrooms, fresh mushrooms do not have to be perfectly white or translucent. A healthy mushroom should feel slightly heavy; if it’s light or hollow, it is not fresh. The cap should have no cracks, and avoid mushrooms with brown spots on the skin, or cook them thoroughly if purchased.
