According to the History and Culture Service of Saed News, based on videos and reports published by Reuters, the oldest and most complete tablet of the Ten Commandments from the Book of Exodus, one of the sacred texts of Judaism, is set to be sold next month at a Sotheby’s auction in New York. This marble tablet, weighing about 52 kilograms and standing approximately 60 centimeters tall, was discovered during railway excavations in 1913 along Israel’s southern coast, near ancient synagogues, mosques, and churches.

The tablet, inscribed in Neo-Hebrew using the ancient Phoenician alphabet, is estimated to be 1,500 years old, dating back to the late Roman-Byzantine period. According to research, there are a total of 10 other known examples, of which nine consist only of fragments of the Ten Commandments.
