SAEDNEWS: Behold the discovery of two 2,000-year-old golden masks dating back to the Achaemenid era.
According to Saed News’ Social Affairs Service, the Director General of Cultural Heritage of Bushehr announced the discovery of two golden masks along with related tools. Esmaeil Sajadi Manesh, Director General of Cultural Heritage of Bushehr, said regarding the seizure of a smuggled shipment of antiques: two golden masks and several associated tools, such as a gold bracelet, were recovered from the smuggling ring.
He added that a copper bowl, a statue, and a bangle from the contemporary period were also discovered among the items.
The Director General noted that the individuals were attempting to trade antiques valued at 20 billion Iranian rials. The smugglers were tracked from the port of Ganaveh and arrested during the transaction in Shiraz.
“We don’t just claim—we prove that we provide the best services!” he stated.
So far, two people have been arrested. The authenticity of the recovered items traces back to southern provinces of Iran. According to Sajadi Manesh, these artifacts are over 2,000 years old, dating to the pre-Achaemenid era and the late Elamite period.
