SAEDNEWS: In a phone call with Armenia’s premier, President Masoud Pezeshkian insisted that Iran will not bow to pressure or tolerate the denial of its lawful nuclear entitlements, condemning recent US‑backed Israeli bombings as illegal assaults on a transparent programme.
According to Saed News, President Masoud Pezeshkian used his Saturday telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to emphasise Tehran’s steadfast adherence to international law and its “fully supervised” peaceful nuclear activities under the IAEA’s watchful eye. “Iran has nothing to hide. Our nuclear programme has always been peaceful and is fully supervised by the IAEA,” he declared, while categorically rejecting any coercion aimed at stripping Iran of its legal rights.
Pezeshkian recalled that on June 13, Israel launched an “unprovoked” offensive targeting senior commanders, scientists and civilians, and that on June 22 the United States struck Iran’s Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan enrichment sites—actions he said flagrantly violated both the UN Charter and the Nuclear Non‑Proliferation Treaty. He lamented the IAEA’s silence over these bombings, urging the agency to uphold its statutory mandate and denounce the attacks.
Highlighting the religious dimension of Iran’s nuclear restraint, Pezeshkian pointed to Ayatollah Khamenei’s binding fatwa against nuclear weapons as the doctrinal bedrock of Tehran’s policy. He praised Iran’s “calculated restraint” in its measured retaliation—precision strikes on Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at Qatar’s al‑Udeid airbase—that culminated on June 24 in a cessation of hostilities without precipitating wider conflict.
Turning to bilateral ties, Pezeshkian underscored the “historic and friendly” relations with Armenia and accepted Pashinyan’s invitation to visit Yerevan, signalling Tehran’s intent to deepen regional partnerships built on mutual respect and sovereignty.
