Does Iran’s Supreme Leader Use a Mobile Phone? His Personal Doctor Reveals the Truth

According to Saed News, Alireza Marandi, who has served as the chief physician to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for nearly three decades, appeared on the TV program “Bermuda” hosted by Kamran Najafzadeh on Nasim Network. During the interview, Marandi addressed personal questions about the leader’s daily life, including his use of technology.

Responding to whether the Supreme Leader uses a mobile phone, Marandi said he has never seen Ayatollah Khamenei with one and expressed skepticism that he uses such devices. This detail adds to the portrait of a leader maintaining a traditional and modest lifestyle despite his immense political authority.

Marandi also revealed his longstanding relationship with the leader’s family, recounting how he served as a pediatrician for Khamenei’s children. He recalled a phone call from the Supreme Leader’s wife requesting medical care for one of their daughters’ children, emphasizing the family’s humble and direct approach despite their stature.

Currently, Marandi no longer maintains a private practice but occasionally provides medical care for the Supreme Leader and his family at home or during official visits, including attending to health issues of Khamenei’s grandchildren. He described this service as a personal honor and a reflection of trust built over decades.

These insights into the Supreme Leader’s private world highlight a contrast between his political prominence and personal simplicity, with technology use notably absent from his daily routine.
