SAEDNEWS: A widely shared photograph captures Ayatollah Khamenei’s sweet grandchildren—his grandson in a Revolutionary Guard uniform and his granddaughter in a chador and headscarf—nestled in their father’s arms.
According to Saed News, a touching image of the Supreme Leader’s grandchildren has gone viral on Iranian social media, offering a rare, affectionate glimpse behind the austere public façade. In the photograph, Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei’s two children are cradled lovingly by their father: the boy dressed in a miniature Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps uniform, and his sister clad in a modest chador and headscarf.
Seyyed Mojtaba, born on 17 Shahrivar 1348 (September 8, 1969), is the second son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Educated at the prestigious Alavi high school, he received foundational religious instruction from his father and Grand Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi, before pursuing advanced studies in Qom under prominent scholars such as Mesbah Yazdi, Mohsen Kharazi and Lotfollah Safi Golpayegani. He is married to the daughter of veteran conservative politician Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel.
The image’s resonance lies in its humanizing juxtaposition of familial warmth and ideological symbolism. The miniature uniform evokes the family’s close ties with the Revolutionary Guard, while the daughter’s attire underscores a commitment to traditional values. Observers note that such domestic vignettes—rarely seen in state media—serve to soften the leader’s image and reinforce the narrative of continuity between personal faith and national identity.
As the photograph continues to circulate, it sparks conversation about the private lives of Iran’s ruling family and the subtle ways in which personal imagery is harnessed to convey political and cultural messages.
