Fatwa by Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi: Anyone who threatens the Leader is considered a mohareb (an enemy of God).

According to Saed News, following threats made by the criminal U.S. President and leaders of the child-killing Zionist regime against the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Shiite religious authority, a group of believers submitted a religious inquiry (istifta) to Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi regarding the duties of Muslims in response to these threats. The full text of the question and the Ayatollah’s response is as follows:

Question:

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

To the honorable Marja' of Shiite Muslims, Grand Ayatollah al-Uzma Makarem Shirazi (may his noble shadow endure),

Greetings and salutations,

In recent days, we have witnessed the President of the United States and leaders of the Zionist regime repeatedly threatening the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and certain scholars and religious authorities with assassination.

We humbly ask: What is the ruling regarding threats to the religious authority and leadership of the Islamic society, and if—God forbid—such an act is committed by the U.S. government or any other entity, what is the duty of Muslims around the world?

May God protect all divine scholars, religious authorities, and the Supreme Leader under the care of Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance), and may He repel the evil of the disbelievers and enemies of God’s religion.

Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings,
A group of faithful believers and Muslims

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi's response:

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Any person or regime that threatens or—God forbid—assaults the leadership or religious authority in an attempt to harm the Islamic Ummah and its governance is deemed a mohareb (one who wages war against God). Any cooperation with or support for such entities by Muslims or Islamic governments is forbidden. All Muslims around the world must make these enemies regret their words and actions. If they endure hardship or loss in doing so, they will, God willing, be rewarded as mujahideen in the path of God.

May God protect the Islamic community from the evil of its enemies and hasten the reappearance of the Master of the Age.

Wishing you continued success,
