Turkish Foreign Minister to Visit Tehran for Bilateral and Regional Talks

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei announced that Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization head, Hakan Fidan, will meet with Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and other senior Iranian officials.

Baqaei stated that discussions will cover bilateral relations, regional developments, and international issues.

According to Turkish diplomatic sources, the talks will focus on strengthening the High-Level Cooperation Council and reviewing preparations for its ninth meeting. Both sides aim to deepen security and counterterrorism cooperation.

Officials are also expected to discuss accelerating border trade infrastructure and boosting bilateral trade from $6.5 billion to $30 billion.

Fidan will exchange views with Iranian authorities on regional stability, including the situations in Gaza, Syria, and Israel’s actions in the region. Peaceful resolution of Iran’s nuclear program will also be part of the agenda.

Other topics include the Russia-Ukraine war, developments in the South Caucasus, and efforts to ease Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions.
