SAEDNEWS: President Masoud Pezeshkian faces intense criticism from both reformists and hardliners while striving to address Iran’s complex political and social challenges. Observers emphasize the need for government decisiveness and unity.
The Iranian newspaper Ettelaat has expressed concern over political attacks on the government and its perceived inaction in response.
According to Ettelaat, President Masoud Pezeshkian is enduring difficult days. Managing the government under such circumstances is an exhausting task. He is exerting every effort to navigate these challenges and create a glimmer of hope.
Almost all political factions are criticizing him to some extent, often disregarding fairness and moderation. Reformists demand that he fulfill his promises regarding stronger decisiveness, lifting censorship, confronting favoritism, firmly dealing with extremists, and abandoning excessive compromises. Meanwhile, hardliners and some fiery principlists criticize him daily, sometimes using satirical comparisons to Iran’s first president.
The newspaper notes that President Pezeshkian should not present an image of himself as a cornered boxer facing punches from all directions, neither to influential opponents nor to the public who place hope in him and his team. Overcoming the country’s minor and major crises requires all political, intellectual, and expert capacities, as well as the full material and institutional powers of the government and all three branches.
Everyone should support the president and his government during these challenging times. At the same time, the president and his cabinet must demonstrate greater authority, speed, innovation, and decisiveness to avoid projecting an image of weakness, both to the domestic public and to foreign adversaries. Hope must be instilled in the suffering public while discouraging the hopes of adversaries. Collective efforts are essential to strengthen the government, which remains at the forefront of service and leadership.
