SAEDNEWS: Armenia emphasizes its strong friendship and cooperative ties with Iran, while both countries stress the importance of regional stability, respect for sovereignty, and secure transportation routes following the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement.
The Armenian Foreign Minister emphasized that Armenia is a friendly neighbor to Iran, stating that Yerevan prioritizes maintaining relations based on friendship, good-neighborliness, and mutual interests, and highly values these ties.
According to Saed News citing Entekhab, the Iranian Foreign Minister welcomed the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and, referring to Iran’s considerations regarding transportation routes and reopening of blocked networks, stressed that such routes should not lead to changes in regional geopolitics or restrict Iran’s access to other transport corridors. He emphasized that in every decision and action, respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity must be fully observed.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also pointed out certain aspects and sensitivities involved in the matter, noting that considerations related to regional stability and security of neighboring countries are essential for any plan or agreement in this context.
The Armenian Foreign Minister praised Iran’s principled stance on respecting Armenia’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its attention to geopolitical sensitivities, peace, and regional stability. He assured that Yerevan, in decisions regarding transportation routes, gives primary attention to regional peace and stability as well as the mutual interests and benefits of Iran-Armenia relations.
