SAEDNEWS: Abbas Araqchi said that the S.C.O. will expand beyond regional framework soon.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has stated that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (S.C.O.) is steadily broadening its global influence and gradually moving beyond its regional framework.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in China on Tuesday, Araqchi said that his trip to China was aimed to attend the 25th meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the S.C.O., which will be held on Wednesday in Tianjin, located in eastern China.
He added that the S.C.O. is progressively broadening its global influence, transitioning from a regional platform to a comprehensive international organization with an expanding agenda across multiple issues.
The development strategy of the S.C.O. and its member countries in the field of energy and commerce as well as other areas will be finalized, and international issues will be discussed, he noted.
He said he will hold bilateral meetings with his Chinese and Russian counterparts on the sidelines of the event.
Referring to the aggression of the Israeli regime and U.S. against Iran, he said almost all international and regional organizations and more than five countries condemned the action and expressed solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He also appreciated the S.C.O. statement against the recent attacks by the Israeli regime and the U.S. against Iran.
