SAEDNEWS: Lawmakers approved the bill to suspend cooperation with the I.A.E.A. over the Agency’s failure to protect Iran’s peaceful nuclear sites.
According to Saednews, Members of Parliament have approved a bill mandating the administration to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (I.A.E.A.).
The bill said that given the violation of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the Israeli regime and the United States in targeting the country’s peaceful nuclear facilities and endangering its interests, and in accordance with Article 60 of the 1969 Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, the administration is obligated to immediately suspend all its cooperation with the I.A.E.A. under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (N.P.T.) and its safeguards.
It said the suspensions should remain in effect until certain conditions are met, including the following:
1. Ensuring full respect for the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the security of nuclear facilities and nuclear scientists, based on the framework of the United Nations Charter, as determined by the Supreme National Security Council.
2. Ensuring the full realization of the inherent rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran to enjoy all rights stipulated in Article IV of the N.P.T., particularly uranium enrichment within the country, as determined by the Supreme National Security Council.
The decision followed U.S. strikes on several Iranian nuclear sites, in violation of international law, including the United Nations Charter.
While the Israeli regime waged its war of aggression against Iran on June 13, the U.S. stepped in and launched aerial attacks on three nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan early Sunday.
Iran has said it reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people, with the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (A.E.O.I.) declaring that the attack violated the N.P.T.)and would not prevent Iran from developing its peaceful nuclear program.
