A statement issued by the scholars of Najaf Seminary condemns the shameless and arrogant threats by the U.S. government against the high religious authority of Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei (may his shadow remain), who is the symbol of resistance and dignity of the Islamic Ummah in the present age.
In a crazy and unprecedented move that clearly reflects political foolishness and moral decline in the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump has made a direct threat against this great religious authority and the leader of Muslims worldwide.
This despicable behavior reveals the true face of the arrogant American regime, which not only disregards human principles and the dignity of nations but also steps forward to humiliate the sacredness of the Islamic Ummah.
The Shiite religious authority is not merely a political figure but a symbol of guidance, unity, and the awakened conscience of the Islamic Ummah in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Bahrain, Pakistan, and other Islamic lands.
Any aggression against this exalted position means declaring war on the entire Islamic Ummah and is a blatant betrayal of the values of our monotheistic civilization.
