Saed News: Israeli media have revealed the heavy damage caused by Iran’s missile strike on the Weizmann Institute — a reflection of the vulnerability of Israel’s research and military infrastructure to Iran’s targeted attacks.
According to the political desk of Saed News, quoting the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, an Iranian missile that struck the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot earlier this week caused extensive damage. The Weizmann Institute is one of Israel’s most important scientific centers and plays a role in the regime’s military programs.
The newspaper wrote:
"Research that was on the verge of clinical trials was disrupted, valuable samples collected from around the world were destroyed, and precision equipment that had been specially ordered became unusable. Some of the damage is irreparable, and while some may be fixable, the lost time and delay in research have had a deeply damaging impact."
The American network CNN also reported, quoting staff at the Israeli Weizmann Institute:
"Some laboratories were completely burned as a result of the Iranian missile strike."
Haaretz newspaper, quoting a professor from the Weizmann Institute of Nuclear Research, stated:
"The laboratory was completely destroyed. The Iranian missile caused three floors of the institute to collapse."
The Weizmann Institute of Science is Israel’s most prominent scientific center. It maintains extensive cooperation with the Israeli military and intelligence services, and does not refrain from actions like cyber theft and hacking to achieve its objectives. The institute collaborates with Israel’s main weapons manufacturers, and its scientists play key roles in projects with military applications.
The Kiryat Weizmann Science Park, located near the institute, houses major Zionist arms companies such as Rafael, IAI, and Elbit.
Professor Shareil Fleischman from the Faculty of Biochemistry emphasized the damage to sensitive laboratory infrastructure, saying:
"It's not just expensive devices that have been lost, but decades of experience and finely tuned scientific setups have been destroyed. Generations of scientific research have been wiped out."
