SAEDNEWS: During this meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister described the claims made regarding Iran’s missile program as a clear interference in Iran’s internal affairs.
According to the political service of SaedNews, following the submission of interventionist claims in the joint statement of the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union (EU)—including support for baseless claims regarding Iran’s Tunb-e Bozorg, Tunb-e Kuchak, and Abu Musa islands, interference in Iran’s defense affairs, and false assertions concerning Iran’s nuclear program—the ambassadors and heads of delegations of EU member states were summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs. Iran’s strong protest was formally conveyed to them.
Emphasizing Iran’s undisputed and perpetual sovereignty over the Iranian islands of Tunb-e Bozorg, Tunb-e Kuchak, and Abu Musa as an inseparable part of its territory, Takht-Ravanchi described the EU’s support for a baseless claim made by a GCC member state regarding these islands as a violation of the principle of respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity. He strongly condemned the EU’s politically motivated and biased stance.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also considered the claims regarding Iran’s missile program as clear interference in Iran’s internal affairs. Rejecting the false and exaggerated narratives about Iran’s missile capabilities, he stressed that Iran’s indigenous defense capabilities, including its missile program, are an inherent right to self-defense and a guarantor of regional stability and security.
Criticizing the bad faith, inefficiency, and ill intentions of the three European parties to the JCPOA in diplomatic processes concerning Iran’s nuclear issue, Takht-Ravanchi stated: the EU, as coordinator of the JCPOA Joint Commission, along with France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, not only failed to fulfill their JCPOA commitments but also disrupted diplomacy by misusing the dispute resolution mechanism. Therefore, instead of repeating stereotypical and utterly false claims about Iran’s nuclear program, they should be held accountable for their destructive actions.
