SAEDNEWS: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied a media report about a phone call between Witkoff and [him/her], stating that no such call had taken place.
According to the political service of Saed News, citing the Foreign Policy desk of Fars News Agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi today (Wednesday, October 8) denied a report by the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida about a phone call with Steve Witkoff, former U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Middle East affairs. Araqchi stated:
"This is incorrect. I deny it, and no such contact has taken place."
Al-Jarida had claimed that Witkoff, in a call with Araqchi, sought Iran’s support for Trump’s peace plan for Gaza. Talks regarding Trump’s 20-point plan to establish peace in Gaza are currently underway in Sharm El-Sheikh.
