SAEDNEWS: The United States, which considers the IRGC’s fast boats a serious threat, has been training for about four years at its naval bases in the Persian Gulf—especially Al Dhafra Naval Base—with Chinook, Bell, Black Hawk, and Apache helicopters to counter the IRGC patrol crafts.
According to Saed News, The presence of U.S. and some Western combat vessels in the region has placed naval threats upon our country’s economic and military fleet and has caused regional insecurity; therefore, strengthening combat readiness and upgrading equipment related to naval warfare are undeniable necessities for our country.
the U.S. Navy has long sought illegitimate interests and regional destabilization by deploying various carrier groups to the Persian Gulf. In contrast, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN), with its powerful presence in the Gulf and its wide use of military equipment, possesses the necessary readiness for an asymmetric battle with the Yankees.
Analysts and experts in defense and military affairs believe that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have the required ability to counter the U.S. fleet in the Persian Gulf. The commanders of the Islamic Republic of Iran have always emphasized the capabilities of our armed forces in responding to naval threats, and the IRGC Navy has taken significant measures in this regard.
One of Iran’s levers of power in the Persian Gulf is controlling the Strait of Hormuz, a mission entrusted to the IRGC Navy. This strait is regarded as the lifeline of global oil. Military analysts believe that if Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz, it could inflict heavy damage on the global oil artery, causing worldwide inflation in essential goods and fuel, with oil prices soaring to $150–200.
So the question arises: how can the IRGC Navy close the Strait of Hormuz? Two major strategies exist in this regard: the IRGC Navy can sink two ships in the Strait of Hormuz, blocking the passage of vessels. The second strategy is the activation of the “bees’ sting,” meaning the use of hundreds of fast boats to confront and engage with warships and aircraft carriers.
Using speedboats at 80 to 90 knots can create many problems for vessels whose maximum speed, even under optimal parameters, is around 60 knots; therefore, fast boats equipped with cruise missiles can inflict severe blows on the enemy’s structure.
Sky News, referring to Iran’s power projection in West Asia, stated: Iran possesses a vast arsenal of fast boats and anti-ship missiles stored in secret, protected bases to counter threats.
The United States, which perceives the IRGC’s fast boats as a serious danger, has been conducting training at its naval bases in the Persian Gulf, particularly Al Dhafra Naval Base, with Chinook, Bell, Black Hawk, and Apache helicopters for about four years to counter the IRGC patrol crafts.
Analysts believe this is a joint project between the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates to confront Iran. Senior U.S. military official Matthew Trollinger said: “Bilateral military exercises are a tool to enhance the capabilities of the U.S. and the UAE to respond to major regional threats.”
If the American side examines the capability and determination of the IRGC Navy, it will see that about 10 years ago, the IRGC exploded a mock-up of the aircraft carrier USS John Nimitz with 400 missiles and rockets, demonstrating that the IRGC Navy’s capabilities in the Persian Gulf are unlimited. These capabilities have grown significantly over the past 10 years, both in the number of vessels and in the type, accuracy, and destructive power of missiles, making matters difficult for the American side should war erupt.
Analysts believe that the attack on the mock-up of the Nimitz aircraft carrier was, in fact, a test of an Iranian tactic known as the “swarm of boats” to destroy giant American vessels.
In summary, it can be said that Iran’s Navy possesses many tools to respond to any hostile action, one of which is the patrol crafts that are a thorn in the eye of the CENTCOM terrorist apparatus and will cause serious trouble for other countries that align with these terrorist forces.
